I LoVe ReHab....

Today I had to write my weekly journal for my internship class. In it I am supposed to write about my experiences and reflect on the things that I am learning. I have felt so lucky to have the resources to pursue my education and even luckier that I was able to find a full-time job so quickly and in our bad economy. The best part though, is that I LOVE what I do. Many times people think about Rehabilitation Counseling as substance abuse. This is a part of it but there are SO MANY things that go into it. Rehab counselors work in schools, hospitals, state or federal agencies, or even open their own businesses. We work with people with physical disabilities, mental illnesses, addictions of all kinds, and learning disabilities. As you can see there is such a wide spectrum of what you can do. I work in public vocational rehabilitiation and as such I work with all different types of people to help them reach their employment, educational, and personal goals. Being such a goal-driven person myself, you can see why this makes me so happy! I love being able to connect people to resources and counsel with them to help them overcome any employment barriers they may have. I love that you never know what you are going to get and that everyday is so different. Also, I am finally out of my cubicle....at least part time.

Conference and Jacque....

Meet my former lover....Jacque Torres. (well, at least his chocolate)

These beautiful little morsels melt like heavenly manna in my mouth. I went this weekend to partake of them in NYC. We have had an off again on again relationship over the last four years. Everytime I am near the city I think of them. I crave them. I dream of them. I got a box of them to take to John next weekend. Thanks Joanne, Jenn, and RiLee for humoring me with a trip to the city just so I could experience this greatness once more.

We also went to the "Cowboy Bar" for a girl's night out. I LOVE dancing to country music. It was a little different being married now. I miss my husband!

This weekend is conference. Truly looking forward to it.

Apple Picking....

Equals gloriousness! Great friends, delicious crisp apples, fall weather....gotta love it. Fall is my favorite season ever and since I am in PA all by myself I travel the short 2 1/2 hrs on the weekends to NJ so I can hang out with close friends. We traveled together to upstate NY to pick apples to celebrate Fall....it was fabulous!
